Swimwear for the Petite-Busted Girl

I decided to title “Wednesday’s Wishlist” with something a bit more creative. Please don’t mistake this post as a ‘self body shame’, because I truly am grateful for this body that God gave me.

Do you know anyone who loves buying swimwear? I honestly can’t think of a single person- male or female- who loves shopping for a new swimsuit. I would argue that swimsuits are made with the well-endowed girl in mind. However, the well-endowed girl would surely disagree. While I often struggle to fill the tops of my swimsuits, I can dive headfirst into the waves. I never worry about having to hold myself in. That is about the only perk to being ‘petite-busted’.

I’m heading to Belize in 10 days for my friend Lindsay’s wedding. I can’t wait to be on the beach! The one-shoulder JCrew Factory swimsuit is my new favorite. It is very flattering on top, and the cut of the bottom is modest, too. (Double bonus) I’m including my favorite picks, and many are currently on sale, too.

Baby Girl Gift Ideas

Baby Showers- we’ve all been to them. If you’re not a mom, like me, it can be challenging to find the perfect gift. I sit there awkwardly while breast-pumping contraptions and butt-paste are being unwrapped. All the moms in the room let out some commentary, like, “Oh my God! That was a lifesaver for me!” (Yeah…I don’t get it. I’m sorry.)

This weekend, my cousin had the most fun, non-traditional baby shower. It was held at Bar in New Haven. For anyone not from Connecticut- Bar is a landmark and home to the famous ‘mashed potato pizza’. It was a “Jack and Jill Shower”. The beer (brewed in-house) was flowing, and there were kids running around everywhere. If anyone knows how to throw an incredibly fun baby shower, it is my cousin, Jenny.

I know what you’re thinking- it’s the blind leading the blind. But, I assure you, I have a great eye for adorable baby girl outfits. I am aunt after all. For the gift this weekend, I started with a fun storage bin, similar to this one. My cousin lives five minutes from the beach, and the baby’s nursery has a super cool pink and navy nautical theme.

I decided to fill the bin with cute outfits, a gift card, and some nautical bibs. I also added a bottle of Pinot Grigio and bourbon, because, well, Mommy and Daddy may need a drink in a few months.
